Acceptable Use Policy

SoulGate is a place for honoring the people who matter. This Acceptable Use Policy sets out the ground rules that keep it that way — what you can and cannot do when you use SoulGate — so that every memory is treated with the dignity it deserves and every person represented on the platform is protected.

1. Overview & Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how everyone uses SoulGate — the website, the app, and all of the features and services we offer. It applies to every person who accesses SoulGate, whether you are an account holder, a guest invited into a room, or simply a visitor.

This AUP supplements, and should be read together with, our User Agreement and our AI Ethical Use Policy. Where those documents set out your broader rights and responsibilities, this policy focuses specifically on what is and isn't acceptable behavior on the platform. If you violate this AUP, we may remove the content involved, suspend your access, or terminate your account, as described below.

2. Respect the Purpose

SoulGate exists for a specific and meaningful purpose: to help people honor, remember, and connect with the loved ones they've lost, and to learn from and be inspired by historic figures. It is a space for reflection, tribute, and connection.

We ask that you use SoulGate in that spirit. Treat the people represented on the platform — and the families who cherish them — with dignity and respect. Content and behavior that mock, degrade, or exploit the memory of a person, or that use SoulGate for purposes at odds with its intent, have no place here.

3. Prohibited Content

You may not upload, create, share, or otherwise make available any content that is:

• Unlawful — content that violates any applicable law or regulation, or that promotes illegal activity.
• Hateful, harassing, or threatening — content that attacks, demeans, or incites hostility against people based on who they are, or that harasses, intimidates, or threatens anyone.
• Sexually explicit or exploitative — pornographic content, or any content that sexualizes or exploits any person, and especially any content that exploits or endangers minors.
• Graphically violent — content that depicts gratuitous or graphic violence, gore, or cruelty.
• Defamatory — content that makes false statements that damage a person's reputation.
• Infringing — content that infringes the intellectual-property rights, privacy rights, or other rights of any person or organization.

4. Prohibited Conduct

When using SoulGate, you may not:

• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity, affiliation, or authority to act on someone's behalf.
• Use someone's likeness without the right to do so — you may not upload a person's photos, voice, or likeness unless you have the right or consent to use them.
• Represent a living person without consent — you may not create a digital representation of a living person without their explicit consent.
• Deceive or defraud — you may not use SoulGate to deceive, defraud, scam, phish, or spread misinformation.
• Harass or endanger anyone — you may not use the service to harass, stalk, threaten, or otherwise endanger any person.
• Exploit the service commercially — you may not use SoulGate for any commercial exploitation that is not permitted by your plan.

5. Misuse of AI Output

SoulGate uses proprietary AI technology to help bring memories to life. The voice, likeness, and video that SoulGate generates are a tribute — a way to remember and connect — and must be treated as such.

You must never present AI-generated output from SoulGate as an authentic real-world statement by the person represented, use it to deceive others about whether it is real or authentic, or use it to harm, defame, defraud, or manipulate any person. Any use of AI output to mislead, injure, or take advantage of others is strictly prohibited. 6. Security & Integrity

To protect SoulGate, the people who use it, and the memories entrusted to it, you may not:

• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service, to other users' rooms, or to any account.
• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service, or breach or circumvent any security or authentication measure.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or place an undue burden on the service or the experience of other users.
• Introduce any malware, virus, or other malicious or harmful code.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect data from the service through automated or unauthorized means.
• Circumvent, disable, or interfere with usage limits, access controls, or other restrictions.
• Attempt to access, copy, reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise derive or reconstruct the underlying technology of the service. SoulGate's proprietary AI technology and the way the service works are confidential and protected, and any attempt to uncover, replicate, or extract them is prohibited.

7. Rooms & Guests

SoulGate lets hosts create private rooms and invite others to share in a memory together. If you host a room, you are responsible for who you invite and for the content shared within it. Choose your guests thoughtfully, and make sure everyone you bring in understands the personal nature of what they're entering.

If you join a room as a guest, treat the host, the other participants, and the memory being honored with the same care and respect you would want for your own. Everything in this policy applies inside rooms just as it does everywhere else on SoulGate.

8. Reporting Violations

If you come across content or behavior on SoulGate that you believe violates this policy — or that simply raises a concern — please tell us. You can reach our care team at hello@soulgate.com. Let us know what you saw and where, and we will review it. We take reports seriously and will act on them where appropriate to keep SoulGate a safe and respectful place.

9. Enforcement & Consequences

When someone violates this policy, we may take whatever action we consider appropriate to protect our community and the memories in our care. Depending on the circumstances, that may include removing or restricting content, limiting or disabling certain features, or suspending or terminating an account.

We aim to act fairly and in proportion to the conduct involved, and serious or repeated violations may result in immediate termination without notice. Our decision not to act in a particular instance does not waive our right to act in others.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, our community, or the legal and regulatory landscape. When we make changes, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of SoulGate after an update means you accept the revised policy, so we encourage you to review it periodically.
